Students’ Perception of Digital Alternative Assessment Practices in Islamic Studies

Online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic has paved way for a new shift in Islamic studies towards implementation of digital alternative assessments. Although was initially characterized by urgency due to Movement Control Order (MCO), evolvement increasingly gained acceptance and proven be effective achieving outcomes. This study aims identify perceptions students on assessments they undertook terms practice, form, effectiveness. A survey questionnaire carried out involving 461 students. Data were measured using five-point Likert scale analyzed Statistical Package Social Science (SPSS) 26.0. The findings indicate that respondents’ perception practice form assessment is at high level. All lecturers conducted online, effectiveness also perceived finding indicates enabled synthesize information harnessed their skills through process self-reflection learning. Through assessment, managed hone means assessed as authentic because it allows apply high-level knowledge well provides real-world experience. Nevertheless, aspect necessitates further improvement provide meaningful suggests considers challenges faced views developing more sustainable guideline implementing online assessment.
